This message is at the heart of my work and though it's a cliche, it is one I wish to spur on and truly believe in. I once read something like: 'Do what you love, because it's the only thing you will ever have enough motivation to actually get great at.'

Finding an Identity
This is some of the process involved in creating the identity for the studio.
It started with a little sketch by renata.
It started with a little sketch by renata.
I liked the idea and started to do some variations.
Sometimes I worked on the computer, sometimes on paper.
The first batch didn't seem quite right, so I tried to push the design further.
This is some of the process for secondary icons.
Here is the digital process for the sketch club logo.
In the end we decided to get rid of wings all together (well Renata did).

World’s Colors in a Single Cubic Book: RGB Colorspace Atlas
World’s Colors in a Single Cubic Book: RGB Colorspace Atlas:

In the design business, having an original color tool could do wonders. We ran across these interesting looking 8 x 8 x 8-inch (20.3 x 20.3 x 20.3 cm) hard-back cubes presenting the RGB color scheme in a page-by-page medium and thought of sharing the idea further. Designed by American artist Tauba Auerbach, the RGB Colorspace Atlas is said to contain all the colors out there, each of them easy to reach by simply flipping the pages. According to the designer, the project was achieved in collaboration with designer Daniel E. Kelm and the books were bound by Daniel E. Kelm assisted by Leah Hughes at the Wide Awake Garage. The airbrushed cloth cover and page edges of the cube contribute to an effortless handling, despite the considerable dimensions of the item. We are still a bit puzzled regarding the printing process (how does one capture RGB using CMYK ?), but hope you guys will help us with an explanation. Aside from that, do you find the idea practical?

Upgraded Measuring Tape Features Pencil Trapping Gap for Straight Lines
Upgraded Measuring Tape Features Pencil Trapping Gap for Straight Lines:

We know you architects and designers out there are constantly looking for new ways to simplify your work. Seen on Yanko Design, the Hole Measuring Tape from designer Sunghoon Jung is a 2012 iF Design Talents Award entry and a practical instrument, soon to be implemented. The product allows its user to draw straight lines easier and with precision, while in the same time assessing their length. Unlike most rulers or common measuring tapes, this idea comes with a functional gap, which the user can use to “trap” a pencil and sketch more accurately. The design has more than one measuring systems, which is definitely a useful feature. You should know the item is still in the concept phase, but it will probably be on the market soon. How would you comment on this creative measuring tape upgrade? Is it a must-have instrument in your work?
