In the spirit of the Olympics, here's a piece I recently illustrated for the New York Times Book Review about Chris Cleave's new novel, Gold.
Gold is the story of two friends, Kate and Zoe, both world-class sprint cyclists who live and train in Manchester, competing against eachother for the slot to represent Great Britain in the London 2012 Olympic Games.
All emotional, psychological and competitive aspects of the story allowed me to play with different angles of the riders in the velodrome but just as the characters in the story only one sketch would make it to print.
Can't wait to read this book!
