portaraits i did of some OG figueroa lane gangbanger homies of mine who lived in my neighborhood. top. mike g and stevy d.. the third piece i did of lefty loop is in the art center gallery. bluud.
the concept i had behind these portraits where about people who i grew up around that didnt really make it out the hood. i painted them behind a wall in back of a liquor store where they would usually slang and kick it all day drinkin' and gettin shot at. when i walked home from school id have to pass em before i got to my house. i'd sometimes kick it with em cuz my homie joe lived nexdoor and his pops was kinda the leader.. u didnt never see him outside like them tho. they'd ask me to draw pictures of some pimp shit like a dude gittin gittin some head from 3 or four females..
the red poles represent the territory and the lines are like spider webs cuz u kinda feel trapped in that shit. its usually really pretty in altadena but livin around that shit can be D pressing, f'real..
sitting in on the first hour of seans class i did a sketch to replace the stolen one.. there aint no chucks or tattoos buuut.. itll do for now..
