Last month Buck asked me to come in for a week and help with their newest commercial for Mountain Dew. They filmed one of their Creative Directors, Thomas Schmid walking and biking against a green screen to use as a guide for the animators. I used stills from this rough edit to create some of the key frames. Thomas did the first half and met me in the middle. After my week was up, my drawings were colored and vectorized, inbetweened, basically cell animated. Over here in Brooklyn at Augenblick Studios. Buck did the rest of the background animation, a mix of 2D and 3D. The linework is a bit cleaner than how I normally draw in pencil due to everything created in vector.

Totally crazy project and I'm pretty happy with how things came out. The guys at Buck and Augenblick are amazing.
